21st century Coding.

21st century Coding.

I used to write computer code from early 80 to mid-90's, and it was so much fun.
I remember we all felt in tocuh with hardware.
If you bought a personal Computer back then, you got all manuals and basic instructions to peek and poke memory addresses and handle hardware interrupts. Those were the days!

Now, mostly everything seems hidden behind libraries, IDE's and frameworks,
I miss the lower level details.
I will agree this is now simpler to newer generations, and probably they are more productive just because of this. Still, using libraries may be even better if we get to know what is behind the hood.

You don't need to be a mechanic in order to drive a car; but it sure comes handy at times: The times when it is really needed.
